OCCUPY EARTH.... Come On, Everybody's Doing It

“To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.”

Abraham Lincoln
At a job fair today for Spirit Airlines and there is a huge traffic jam on the way to the fair.  Many people will not even make it into the building.  Wonder if they are hiring for traffic control in Broward county?  I mean you can't believe everyone who is stuck in traffic has a resume that is even appropriate for Spirit but they are doing what they can. No undocumented workers are taking these jobs.  There are just very few to go around.  Why?   Maybe a system of fundamental corporate greed has inbred itself into the American fabric not unlike herpes.  A good number of people carry the virus, but few know it or show symptoms.
This is why "OCCUPY" is necessary.  Funny, when they did it in Tunisia and Egypt, this whole country, America, supported them. When they came out en mass in Iran and Syria, Yemen and Libya could hardly find a commentator who wasn't questioning when the politicians would step down or at least become open to the, not demands, but concerns and well wishes for a different society from their people respectively.  America can take solace in the fact that these "uprisings" among the young and poor and have nots, are not localized to either America, North Africa or West Asia.  Europe has been experiencing this sort of spat for some time now, though the prevailing factors and way things were eventually mitigated may be different.  You could almost imagine that this is what it feels like from the Palestinian perspective.
Sidebar: Don't you find it strange that some Israelis will go to the great lengths of even denying that the Palestinian is even a "real" nation after the trauma they went through in Germany?  Just saying, quite the double standard if you ask me.
If "Occupy" people were sleeping on sidewalks for tickets to Lady Gaga or Nikki Minaj, or the next Sony Playstation or Iphone 5 nobody, and I mean NOBODY, would be giving them grief. Only laughing at them. For those who weren't hoping to get a spot in line themselves.  Better still, the media build up in the next few weeks prior to "Black" Friday, is something the country looks forward to.  So the action is apparently not the problem.  The chief concern is the focus of the agitation.  It's always the pimple that is most visible that gives you the hardest fight and looks to mar your face in protest to your protest.
Maybe, as I have always stated in my blog, I am looking at these things from a very naive perspective.  Admittedly my lenses are aimed squarely on Africa, with an African mindset, regardless of how little the "Continental African" I am.  Still, I am inclined to believe that what we are witnessing these days, worldwide, I just saw the beginnings of "Occupy Montreal", is the youth engaging one another as never before, through, if not because of, the very internet the babyboomers have given to us.  Some say the age of Aquarius has taken it's last breath.  I am beginning to believe, quite to the contrary, that this generation finally learned to start wiping our own ass.
I have not noticed many Rastafari out amongst the protesters in the scant images coming through my internet or antenna connection.  I will be out to one or more of these protests soon to find out why.  Whatever the reason, it is JAH will.  I will get back to the One World audience shortly with some coverage on these matters.  Until then, I pray love and understanding, among be the guidance we all seek after wisdom.   In the words of my Father, " GOD is love, let us all love."
