Can you feel the love?

"We must act while we can, while the occasion exists, to exert those legitimate pressures available to us lest time run out and resort be had to less happy means. The great nations of the world would do well to remember that, in the modern age even their own fate is not wholly in their own hands. Peace requires the united efforts of us all. Who can foresee what spark might ignite the fuse? The stakes are identical for all of us. Life or death. We all wish to live. We all seek a world in which men are freed of the burdens of ignorance, poverty, hunger and disease."

Haile Selassie the 1st

Just a quick request from brethren and sistren in the Rastafari community and movement.  That of, the necessity for our continued efforts in realizing the highest achievements our great Fathers requested and expected of us.  That we can tune our voices in both prayer and agitation, for the full freedom and redemption of Africa and Her Diaspora, and international repatriation for those Africans stolen from our African family.  That we maintain one meditation: that our abilities and efforts be used in the land, for Africa's future will require of all her children.  That our God's promise of life or death, be weighted towards life, full of love and hope, good deeds and tidings.

Family, it is ever more evident that the tide of change and promise is sweeping across the world.  Across the Arab plain and the African savanna, hope is bubbling up in the people.  Hope of the better world promised them all.  Us all.  Our brothers and sisters in Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain and elsewhere have picked up the agitation that began with the promise of world citizenship, peace and rule of international morality spoken of by HIM Emperor Haile Selassie.  Our brothers and sisters on the continent continue to agitate for those basic human rights that many throughout the Diaspora have long since taken for granted.  They fight for us, for our Father, standing on the shoulders of us, us who stand on the shoulders of our Mighty Elders gone before us.

We must lend our voice and our efforts to their cause.  There are already far too many barriers between us, created by men, and still love, like the life giving water that it is, will eventually penetrate all things.  the "tools" the slave master has yet to return, now has many tools of our own.  If we truly speak for a free Africa, let us join with each other to fulfill HIM word sound.  We have the ability to put together teams of ones that can go into famine and drought zones and serve the masses of hungry.  We have the ability to deal with the great problems of maternal mortality, poverty and disease throughout Africa and the Diaspora.

On this day, July 23, as we celebrate through honour and reverence, the earthday of HIM Emperor Haile Selassie the 1st,let the spirit of Rastafari, the spirit of this community and movement, in all houses all mansions, elevate itself into a oneness and blanket the earth with love.  Africa needs and awaits our help.  It truly is a matter of life or death.  I choose for life.
