Among the countless number of immortalized heroes, who have selflessly fought for the upliftment of our race, the Rt. Hon. King Emmanuel Charles Edwards' name will be forever etched into the annuls of history. Founder of the Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress Church of True Divine Salvation, King Emmanuel struggled relentlessly for the rights of African people the world over. Undeniably, it was the Rt. Hon. King Emmanuel who coined the slogan, "Freedom, Redemption and International Repatriation," that for which the Rastaman and Woman so longed desired, the right to return home. King Emmanuel ever since the late 40’s has pursued the Right of Repatriation for the African slave children scattered throughout the west as a result of slavery. Noted for being one of the earliest agitators for Reparations, King Emmanuel and his Congress has for decades been on the forefront in the Repatriation struggle.

The news that the DA’s Office of Philadelphia is no longer seeking the death penalty for Mumia is no news to supporters of the nearly 30 year Pennsylvania Death Row prisoner. However, because Mumia has for thirty years been subjected to torture on death row and because he is innocent, justice for Mumia will not be served by life imprisonment, but by his release from prison.
Mumia’s case is like thousands of other cases in Philadelphia in which the prosecutor, the judge, and the police conspired to obtain a conviction. One of the most important and least known facts of this case is the existence of a fourth person at the crime scene, Kenneth Freeman. Within hours of the shooting, a driver’s license application found in Officer Faulkner’s shirt pocket led the police to Freeman, who was identified as the shooter in a line-up. Yet Freeman’s presence at the scene was concealed, first by Inspector Alfonso Giordano and later, at trial, by Prosecutor Joe McGill. Recently, the U.S. Department of Justice asserted that withholding evidence of innocence by the prosecutor warrants the overturning of a conviction.
The police investigation that led to Mumia’s conviction was also riddled with corruption and tampering with evidence. The recently discovered Polokoff photographs that were taken at the crime scene, reveal that officer James Forbes, who testified in court that he had properly handled the guns allegedly retrieved at the crime scene, appears holding the guns with his bare hands. The photos also discredit cabdriver Robert Chobert as a witness; his taxi, contrary to his testimony, is pictured facing away from the fallen officer’s car. This evidence hasn’t been reviewed by any court.
Our call to Seth Williams is that he honor DA Lynn Abraham’s 1995 promise to the city of Philadelphia that she would discard any cases where evidence surfaces that even one of the officers involved in an investigation lied in court or in written reports.
The D.A. may think that the case can be laid to rest by sending Mumia off to life in prison. But an aroused public, with the Supreme Court ruling the death sentence to be unconstitutional, is ready to challenge anew the entire trial. The same judge, jury, and DA that were involved in the unlawful sentencing process committed equally egregious violations in the conviction. This is not an ending, it is a new beginning for the movement supporting Abu-Jamal’s quest for release.
The December 9 forum at the National Constitutional Center, featuring Prof. Cornel West, will be preceded by an 11:30 a.m. Press Conference, at the American Friends Service Committee building, 1501 Cherry Street. Then the following day there will be a full-day of organizing and fundraising activities, Saturday December 10, at the Germantown Event Center, 5245 Germantown Avenue, beginning at 12 Noon.

I can't say exactly when and to whom I said it, but I do know that in the days following the scandalous behavior of NYC police during the West Indian Day Parade just this past September, I let ones and ones know how seriously hateful and vile their behavior was. I exhorted people for merely laughing in prudish shame; brushing off the incident(s), as one would the overseer to ward off the whip, as innocent bacchanal. I knew there was an unforeseen devilish, fiendish enjoyment that was masking perfect hatred and an attempt to ridicule and demoralize.

In a departure from my usual sabbath activities, I traveled some 20 miles from home to listen, or maybe just to hear, the new Jamaican Prime Minister(PM) Andrew Holness, speak at a church in Miramar, Fl. I motivated myself to be there out of an unanswered curiosity as to the mission of this new PM in these very uneasy days, in Jamaica and ever increasingly worldwide. With all curiosity and tepid enthusiasm, you'd think I would have arrived at the scheduled event time. But my lateness would prove to pale in comparison to that of the PM, who himself had, as of 5 pm, only just gotten on the plane for a scheduled 3 o'clock event.

Being a young, African, muslim woman anywhere on the planet is difficult. But never for one moment did I imagine that my pelau loving self would have had to go through what I did right here in the Caribbean.
The Museums Association of the Caribbean held its Annual General Meeting in Antigua this year and after three days of what I thought was a fairly successful encounter of museum professionals from across the region, I was faced with an Airport Supervisor who basically told me that I could not leave his country unless and until I removed my “scarf”, in reference to my khimar which everyone now knows as hijab.
When I refused and looked at all of them like they were going mad another officer jumped in and said that it’s the law and that they do this to other muslims and sheikhs and even nuns. They all “complied” so why was I making such a fuss about it?

Sometimes in the hours deep in the folds of the night, inspiration comes from afar off places and alignments in the universe that often go unseen. Such was the instance last night when an acquaintance's posting on the Facebook caused me to view a video clip that I had previously overlooked. I am all to familiar with stories like these living in the States; increasingly all to familiar watching young Afrikan sons slaughtered at the hands of the police. Many, will look aside and make the plethora of excuses far too often borne of ignorance. The suffering and demise of the untouchable is hardly appropriate fodder for the breakfast and dinner table. Then again, the "socialized world", generally inappropriately labeled as the "civilized world", rarely has time to share meals together anymore, yet we that do and would commune and dine are dubbed the infantile savage.

Benetton Emasculates The Afrikan President of USA
Much as I might not support President Obama as CEO, I can't believe most Afrikan people here aren't more outraged at Benetton new ad campaign where they have Obama "kissing" other world governors. I mean if Sandusky and now Fitzpatrick scandals alone don't show just how much American culture is out to feminize and emasculate the Black Man, this clearly has to and should not be left well enough alone.

Black is beautiful and so am I. A sea of Beautiful Afrikan faces with enduring spirit of freedom for a redeemed Afrika. "How long Rastafari call you? How long?" is the chorus we rock to in celebration. It speaks to a greater salient point that we have a inherent internal power to affect our own change. Truly, how long must we see ourselves in full glory and we all not realize that we can be much better than how the western media and powers that be portray us? We are a strong and beautiful Afrikan people throughout the Diaspora.
Many of us did not land in the west by choice but full of the hope, pride and love for Afrika and willing to put as much back into resolving our internal troubles as anyone else. I may not know exactly what is being sung in the video below, but that spirit full of joy and hopeful exuberance for an Afrika based on Afrikan strategies and decisions without western intervention and imperialism shines through as the new moon on her return from her resting journey.
Blessed love. May the light that shines brightly at noonday and the midnight hour not cause to smite you. JAH love and bless each and everyone that the fruit of the root of Afrikan trees once again flourish and bring back strong, vibrant, brilliant seed.

Washington, DC, November 27, 2011: The Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress (EABIC), the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA-ACL) and the Pan-African Diaspora Union (PADU), present a workshop conference seminar on organizng the Pan-African Diaspora at The Davis Center in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 8am til 5pm. Issues relating to grassroots organizing, networking and African healthcare will be covered by the workshops.
UNIA-ACL 10th President General, Hon. Senghor Baye will be the keynote speaker, giving a brief history of the UNIA from the days of the Rt. Hon. Marcus Garvey to present. Dr. Umar Abdullah-Johnson, blood relative of the late abolitionist Frederick Douglas and internationally acclaimed school psychologist will discuss the 21st century Pan-African.
The Universal African Black Cross Nurses head administrator Queen Basiymah Muhammad Bey will present a workshop detailing their services which include transportation to doctors for the sick and elderly and blood pressure testing among others. Bro. Cliff of PADU will present a workshop on Grassroots Organizing and Townhall Meetings, helping to further unify the African Diaspora.
Black Truth Radio host and event emcee, Honourable Priest Jaja, will give a history of the EABIC and its founder, King Emmanuel Charles Edwards. There will also be a Universal African Skills Bank registration drive. Closing ceremony and Nyabinghi music will be presented by the EABIC Daniel’s No. 1 Band.

It bothers me that one question, in regards to the outrageous scandal brewing at Penn State, has yet to be asked: What is it about the European male that gives him propensity to liking young males? Granted, I have met many Europeans from all across the continent that haven't given me any inkling in the slightest to this query. And for what it's worth, while I don't agree either with the taking of prepubescent girls as brides, concubines and consorts, even given different cultures and societal acceptances, there is something fundamentally different. Anybody that would twist that last sentence into something akin to permission to those that would marry a child is completely sick. What I am most concerned with right now though, is what would make these grown men, as in the case of Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, unconscionably desire, molest, rape young children, especially boys?

Maybe you don’t, like me, write to standards readily accepted by current media publications, but you know that your voice is no less valid.
One World One Voice and OWOVMedia are growing and looking for new and fresh talent throughout the African Diaspora. We are looking for fresh voices that most media outlets, though they have broad distribution, are slow to recognize and publish. Send us your local news, sports, culture, and other stories that you feel the world needs to know.
We are looking for video, photography, and writing samples from across the African world: from all over the African continent the Caribbean, North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Feel free to express yourself in the way you do best. Write the things your local and state papers won’t let you print. Help the world hear about volunteer efforts before and after disasters. I asked a young man today why he won't pull up his pants and he turns to me and says, "I don't know. I just grew up that way." Really? Is this what we've been reduced to? It is bad when we accept this not so small issues as our "culture". We didn't bring that over from Africa, whether we left in chains or First Class. This is not our culture and we must leave it alone. Like many other things that have been thrust upon us.

It is bad when we accept this not so small issues as our "culture". We didn't bring that over from Africa, whether we left in chains or First Class. This is not our culture and we must leave it alone. Like many other things that have been thrust upon us.

"As Sunday, November 2, dawned clear, all in Addis Ababa began to prepare for the impressive event of the morning. The Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah and his Empress have just completed a night of prayer and devotion at the most high altar within. Through the early morning the chanting of praises continued, accompanied by the dancing of the priests with their great pulsating drums, the whole suggestive of the Ancient Jewish rites which were in use at the time of King David danced before the Ark of the Covenant.
"Proceeded by waving incense burners, His Imperial Majesty, attired in white silk communion robes, entered the ceremonial hall with an escort of aides and clergy, and took his place upon the Throne. The thrilling but solemn silence gently breaks to the throaty voice of his holiness the Abuna Kyrillos: "Ye princes and ministers, ye nobles and chiefs of the army, ye soldiers and people of Ethiopia, and ye doctors and chiefs of the clergy, ye professors and priests, look ye upon our Emperor Haile Selassie the First, descended from the dynasty of Menelik the First, who was born of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, a dynasty perpetuated without interruption from the time of King Sehale to our times."
"Forty nine bishops and priests of this ancient Christian country, in groups of seven, have held place for seven days and nights in the seven corners of the National Cathedral to chant without ceasing nine Psalms of David. They are now joined by hundreds more. The established Coptic Church is revered and all-powerful in Ethiopia. This is a day when it may and does show its impressive might and splendor.
"The Emperor, whose name is Anglicized as Power of the Holy Trinity, before the questioning of the Abuna gives his sacred pledge to uphold the Orthodox religion of the Church, to support and administer the laws of the country for the betterment of the people, to maintain the integrity of Ethiopia, and to found schools for developing the Spiritual and Material welfare of her subjects.
"Chanting and prayers to the God of Gods rise from a multitude of priestly throats and reverberate from the lofty ceiling of the Cathedral. One by one with the solemn rites and blessings of the high Ethiopian clergy, He received the Gold-Embroidered Scarlet Robes, the Jeweled Sword, Imperial Gold Scepter, the Orb, the Diamond Encrusted Ring, and two Gold
Filigree Lances in token of His position and responsibility. Following ancient customs, as when Samuel anointed David, and Zadok and Nathan anointed Solomon, so the Abuna anointed His Majesty's head with oil. Seven differently scented ointments of ancient prescription are received on the Imperial head, brow, and shoulders. He then concluded with the words: "That God make this Crown a Crown of Glory. That, by the Grace and the blessing which we have given, you may have an Unshaken Faith and a Pure Heart, in order that you may inherit the Crown Eternal. So be it."
The centuries seemed to have slipped suddenly backwards into Biblical ritual.
"The assembly applauded their greeting, and the visiting naval band played the National Anthem, while outside cannons roared a salute of 101 guns, and cheer after cheer came from thousands of subjects massed in the vicinity of the Cathedral."

From reports and expectations, the scene was one of great splendour, and will long be remembered by those who were present.
"Several of the leading nations of Europe sent representatives to the coronation, thereby paying their respects to a rising Negro nation that is destined to play a great part in the fiiture history of the world.
"Abyssinia is the land of the blacks and we are glad to learn that even though Europeans have been trying to impress the Abyssinians that they are not belonging to the Negro Race, they have returned the retort that they are, and that they are proud to be so.
"Ras Tafari has travelled to Europe and America and is therefore no stranger to European hypocrisy and methods; he, therefore, must be regarded as a kind of a modern Emperor, and from what we understand and know of him, he intends to introduce modern methods and systems into his country. Already he has started to recruit from different sections of the world competent men in different branches of science to help to develop his country to the position that she should occupy among the other nations of the world.
"We do hope that Ras Tafari will live long to carry out his wonderful intentions. From what we have heard and what we do know, he is ready and willing to extend the hand of invitation to any Negro who desires to settle in his kingdom. We know of many who are gone to Abyssinia and who have given good report of the great possibilities there, which they are striving to take advantage of.
" The Psalmist prophesied that Princes would come out of Egypt and Ethiopia would stretch forth her hands unto God. We have no doubt that the time is now come. Ethiopia is now really stretching forth her hands. This great kingdom of the East has been hidden for many centuries, but gradually she is rising to take a leading place in the world and it is for us of the Negro race to assist in every way to hold up the hand of Emperor Ras Tafari.”

I am not going to mince words here: the very reason I am a proponent of the capitalism that has taken a strong foothold in the west, is because I firmly believe it to be the west's ultimate downfall. A bit strong? Maybe. But taken in context to the type of individual who, while being born into this system, which may also be born of an innate greed and selfishness, you can almost distinctly make out why the West has begun its downward spiral in the last 50 years. I'm sure my parents had little idea of the "real world" that they bore me and my siblings into. Similarly, I wasn't as astute when my own children were born, beginning some 15 years ago.

Washington, DC, November 27, 2011: The Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress (EABIC), the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA-ACL) and the Pan-African Diaspora Union (PADU), present a workshop conference seminar on organizng the Pan-African Diaspora at The Davis Center in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 8am til 5pm. Issues relating to grassroots organizing, networking and African healthcare will be covered by the workshops.
UNIA-ACL 10th President General, Hon. Senghor Baye will be the keynote speaker, giving a brief history of the UNIA from the days of the Rt. Hon. Marcus Garvey to present. Dr. Umar Abdullah-Johnson, blood relative of the late abolitionist Frederick Douglas and internationally acclaimed school psychologist will discuss the 21st century Pan-African.
The Universal African Black Cross Nurses head administrator Queen Basiymah Muhammad Bey will present a workshop detailing their services which include transportation to doctors for the sick and elderly and blood pressure testing among others. Bro. Cliff of PADU will present a workshop on Grassroots Organizing and Townhall Meetings, helping to further unify the African Diaspora.
Black Truth Radio host and event emcee, Honourable Priest Jaja, will give a history of the EABIC and its founder, King Emmanuel Charles Edwards. There will also be a Universal African Skills Bank registration drive. Closing ceremony and Nyabinghi music will be presented by the EABIC Daniel’s No. 1 Band.
