As The West's Year Comes To An End

  I just want to use this moment to look forward to the year ahead of us.  Whether it is on the Western calendar, the Chinese, the Islamic, the Ethiopian, there have been many significant things that have revealed themselves throughout the earth that will impart even greater significance going forward.  Throughout North Africa, East Africa, Western Asia, Russian, China, even here in America, the tide of youthful expression has swelled to such tsunami strength that the powers that be have been sent on their heels, teetering to balance themselves against the inevitable.  Unlike their new opponents, the current power brokers, have been so coalesced into one systemic structure, that they are little apt to properly handle the schizophrenic organic nature of change.   

If you would assume that the winds of change are only blowing through the open windows of politics you would be mistaken largely in part because while it appears that politics is quite broken, it by no means represents the foundation of idealized thought and action.  Where the change has been most notable, with the transformative ability to effect politics, has been in a strong desire to own back culture and identity.  Own back person hood from the state.  Own back spirituality from the church.  Own back Nationhood from the peddlers of sycophant multiculturalism.  Own back ourselves from the melange of metastasized diseases that have been developed and perfected and profited from.  Own back our food rights.  Own back our lands.

Yes it is true indeed that they weren't ready for such a disturbance in the esoteric.  For my part, coming out of the African Nation of Rastafari, I can say without fear of repercussion, that I have been actively, incessantly praying for this moment in earth future history.  Maybe it is the spirit of the African that they held captive in the holds of demonic torture chambers that would come to be known as slave ships.  For with as many slaves that jumped off the deck, or died in bondage(of quite unnatural means), certainly for as many never quite survived the journey, that I am here now writing to you this day, is testament to the survival of the strong African spirit.  And to that end, I and many like me in divergent faiths, Nations and cultures, have been joining spirit in umoja(unity) to bring the ultimate collapse of Merlin's puppet show.  We beat the drums that ripple the wind that butterflies magnify.

I am still calling for Occupy to ramp up it's efforts; to make sure that the wave crests where and when it should and definitely no time later.  The energy must come to a natural crescendo.  We will soon see the victories that we chant to bear fruit.  When the barons of "Wall Street" find themselves ever increasingly the victims of the very same injustices they perpetrated, and sometimes worse; when the gallows, guillotine and the letting of vile wretched blood becomes the motus operandi of a forgiving yet just-us inspired Peoples; not in any manifestation of or reverse of white supremacy, a doctrine that affected not only Africans but all poor peoples, but as a method of meting out divinely inspired wisdom and principles.

So as I've said on several occasions, OCCUPY EARTH.  Take back the power from the money changers and rule makers.  How civil is it to create the rules game, control the prize distribution and even further, guide the endgame along a path a infinite destruction?  How long has Rastafari called you, children of God and Goddess, to become the essence of the likeness that you were created in?  How long have you been called to demand a dignity for yourself and your children?  How long have you been warned that such dignities may in fact need to be taken, for men are oft times unwilling to give them freely?

We can be so much better as a Nation.  We only need get the vipers from out of our midst.  Let us give our children a much better world to dream in.  I've already heard my children speaking dreams way loftier than I could have ever imagined at their age.  It is that I love them that I endeavor to make sure my great-grandchildren can dream even larger still.

Since this is to likely be my last blog of the Western 2011 calendar year, let me close by saying a few brief things.  

1. May South Sudan continue to move in the right direction and blossom unencumbered to become the beautiful new African flower she is lifted in prayer to be.

2. May the children and women who have seen and been the victims of unspeakable acts of brutality and inhumane treatment, find some solace within themselves, and be given opportunity to be afforded justice.

3. May the few Elders who remain amongst us be cherished and not forgotten, by our generation and the ones to follow.  There is still great knowledge, wisdom and understanding to be sought and gained from them.  Dr. Ben is still with us family.  Send your prayers out for him.

4. Lastly, and I realize there may in fact be many more things to list here but I need something to look forward to in the new year, I LOVE YOU family.  We have forgotten for too long how to tell each other those simple words.  In whatever language.  And to not only speak them, but to live and action them.

   I Love You my lil ones.  I have since the very moment I felt your spirit.  And forever will.  For all my faults and weaknesses as a father, do forgive me.  I am forever learning to not only be a better father, but a better child and sibling myself.  The mission of growth is never ending.
