“Organizing the Diaspora”

Washington, DC, November 27, 2011: The Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress (EABIC), the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA-ACL) and the Pan-African Diaspora Union (PADU), present a workshop conference seminar on organizng the Pan-African Diaspora at The Davis Center in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 8am til 5pm. Issues relating to grassroots organizing, networking and African healthcare will be covered by the workshops.
UNIA-ACL 10th President General, Hon. Senghor Baye will be the keynote speaker, giving a brief history of the UNIA from the days of the Rt. Hon. Marcus Garvey to present. Dr. Umar Abdullah-Johnson, blood relative of the late abolitionist Frederick Douglas and internationally acclaimed school psychologist will discuss the 21st century Pan-African.
The Universal African Black Cross Nurses head administrator Queen Basiymah Muhammad Bey will present a workshop detailing their services which include transportation to doctors for the sick and elderly and blood pressure testing among others. Bro. Cliff of PADU will present a workshop on Grassroots Organizing and Townhall Meetings, helping to further unify the African Diaspora.
Black Truth Radio host and event emcee, Honourable Priest Jaja, will give a history of the EABIC and its founder, King Emmanuel Charles Edwards. There will also be a Universal African Skills Bank registration drive. Closing ceremony and Nyabinghi music will be presented by the EABIC Daniel’s No. 1 Band.
